Je rends profondément grâce pour ce souffle qui traverse notre assemblée, souffle de l’Esprit, souffle du Concile Vatican II, souffle des jeunes qui renouvelle l’Eglise quand elle les met au centre. Je souhaiterai ici aborder l’enjeu du travail en équipe pour la mission auprès des jeunes en lien avec les paragraphes 198-199 de l’Instrumentum Laboris à propos de la communion comme style missionnaire. Santo Padre, carissimi Padri sinodali, cari fratelli e sorelle, giovani che ci scaldate il cuore… La prima e la seconda parte del documento non possono essere slegate. Pensare, e il documento cerca di farlo, a quei giovani che abbiamo cercato di ascoltare nella prima parte, per poter dire qualcosa sull’accompagnamento. I cambiamenti rapidissimi a cui stiamo assistendo, l’evoluzione dell’intelligenza artificiale e le trasformazioni tecnologiche, ci prospettano uno scenario in cui i lavori cambiano molto velocemente: alcuni scompaiono, altri si trasformano; è faticoso per i giovani orientarsi nel mondo del lavoro, e dare il proprio contributo perché esso sia più umano. La formazione e l’orientamento al lavoro vanno ripensate: il processo di studio e formazione non è più lineare. Holy Father, Synod fathers, participants and young people The second part of the “Working Document” highlights the link between the fullness of life and the realization of one’s vocation, intended as God’s dream for a person through which one attains his or her happiness in order to contribute to the happiness of others. This being the case, vocational accompaniment is a process, which not only aims at understanding one’s specific life choice, but also living the choice of life in enduring love and commitment. This calls for consideration of the spaces within which to foster and accompany vocations in the young. In most cases, the basic sense of purpose in life develops in the family and then complemented by other environments where the young people spend their lives.   Holy Father, brother Cardinals and Bishops and sister and brother participants, “ Be united in your convictions and united in your love, with a common purpose… ”   are the words of St. Paul in his encouraging and challenging message to the early Christians in Philippi and the words of the First Scripture Reading for our Opening Mass yesterday. We are all here because of this common love for Jesus Christ, who calls us to a life held in common, rooted in the gospel values, and centered around our sole purpose of helping others experience and live fully the personal love of God. As a representative of UISG and women religious throughout the world, I encourage all of us to let go of anything that is a block to the movement of this Spirit of building this common life and love together.
